RSS feed

I have just completed the exercise on RSS. I am sure there is a great deal of information out there, but I am concerned about spending way too much time on the computer. I did create an account in Google Reader. I have to admit I was a little confused when selecting subscriptions so I initially selected the Food Group. However, I did experiment a little more and found some book discussion groups that have some interesting thoughts and ideas for discussions with children and adults. I really am not sure that I will use this technology--I find it easy to just google book discussions and find questions and ideas for the book I would like to discuss. I won't give up.

7-1/2 Habits

7-1/2 Habits

The easiest habit is to play; however, this can also be the hardest because sometimes it is difficult to stop playing and move onto the next task. It is always fun to share what you have learned with someone else and know that person is learning with you and will have new things to share as well.

Week 3, Thing 6

I just spent some time looking at Mashup sites. I like the Spell with Flickr as well as the Trading Card Maker. I am just not sure of how I would use the applications other than personally. Although as I sit here I am thinking it might be fun to use the Trading Card Make with the DCF books. I think the kids would enjoy creating Trading Cards.

Week 3 Thing 5

I just created a Flickr account and published a photo of my cat, Grace. My neighbors gave me a "welcome" mat that says "Cat Is Nuts!" and everyone agrees! I think I will enjoy using the Flickr account to publish photos of my two beautiful granddaughters so all my friends and family will be able to see them. Also I am sure that everyone will want to meet the twins when they are born.

Week 2, Thing 3 Set up your own blog and add your first post.

I want to thank Dan Greene for helping to make this educational opportunity available. I think it should be great fun!
